This morning the Price is Right continued to impress, giving away a Lexus SUV in the showcase. I'm told previous in the week a Mini-Cooper was up for grabs. "Where do they get these wonderful toys?"
Today posed the question of who would you thank while spinning the big wheel. Some dude thanked his Home Depot. I Might thank Old Dutch for dill pickle chips, maybe, but you really got to love an inanimate to put it above friends or family. Home Depot? Guy must really love home repair, or lawn chairs, or paint ... chips.
The showcase loser, who did not win a new Lexus, lost more than just prizes. He lost a chance to become best husband with a year of free floral arrangements. Never again would he have to explain why he didn't buy his girl flowers, they would just show up once a month and he could brag to neighbors about how great he was. That's a gift that just keeps giving.
From the desk in L.A. under sunny skies, this has been a PIR update.
Tune in next time when we examine the price differential in showcases, how one is 45 gs and another 18. Or how Drew is connecting the row prize to the stage prize, today with ski equipment and surfboard to Colorado and Hawaii trips.
